Want to play Knight Online in browser without downloading a launcher? On ChromeKO you go to chromeko.com, press "Play" ("Oyunu Başlat"), and the game opens inside your browser tab. To see the game first, try it now as a guest; no sign-up needed.

How to play Knight Online in browser: how it works

In a typical game you first download a launcher, copy the game files and wait for the installation to finish. On ChromeKO none of these steps exist. The game runs through your browser: on the first start it loads into the browser once, and later starts are much faster.

In practice you don't need to find a place to install the game or step through an installer. Open your browser on a computer, phone or tablet and the game is there. Phone steps are in our Knight Online mobile guide.

What do you need?

  • Memory: At least 4 GB. With 8 GB the game runs noticeably smoother.
  • Browser: An up-to-date Chrome or Edge runs the game most reliably. Firefox works too.
  • Operating system: Windows, macOS and Linux.
  • Hardware acceleration: Turned on in your browser settings.
  • Connection: Wi-Fi or a good 4G/5G connection.

For details and older computers, see our system requirements article.

Set up your browser before you play

Three small settings do most of the work for smooth play:

  1. Update it. In Chrome and Edge, the About section of the settings menu checks for updates. Install any update first.
  2. Turn on hardware acceleration. In Chrome, go to Settings > System and keep "Use graphics acceleration when available" on. In Edge, the same option is under Settings > System and performance. In Firefox, Settings > General > Performance with the recommended performance settings does the job. Menu names can change between versions.
  3. Use one tab. Open the game in a single tab, and close other memory-hungry tabs and background apps.

Step by step: your first start

  1. Open chromeko.com in your browser.
  2. Press the "Play" button ("Oyunu Başlat").
  3. If you don't have an account, register for free. Registration and playing are both free.
  4. Wait for the game to load on the first start. This happens only once.
  5. Pick or create your character and enter the game.

Later starts take you back to the game from the same address, and the wait is much shorter. If you type play.chromeko.com instead, you go straight to the game screen and log in with your account.

The game won't open or stutters

Work through three checks:

  1. Try the guest login. If try it now as a guest opens, your browser and connection work, so the problem may be with your account login. Check your password and log in again.
  2. Try another browser. If it fails in Chrome, try the same address in Edge or Firefox. If only one browser fails, this shows it quickly.
  3. Check the address and tabs. Enter the game from chromeko.com or play.chromeko.com, not from an old tab. An ad blocker or privacy extension can stop a page from loading; if the problem continues, turn that extension off for the game address and try again.

Stutter is a different problem. First close the browser completely and reopen it, move closer to your Wi-Fi router, and recheck hardware acceleration. For a detailed diagnosis, read the Chrome and Edge guide; for the causes of lag, see the system requirements article. Device steps are on the download page.

Account safety and shared computers

Don't share your password with anyone, and don't reuse a password you use on other sites. If you play on a shared computer at a café, school or office, log out and close the browser tab when you finish. Private windows leave less history behind, but logging out is the real safeguard.

Each time you enter, check that the address is chromeko.com or play.chromeko.com. Look-alike addresses can send players to fake pages.

The limits of browser play

The game depends on your browser: it doesn't run without internet, the browser tab must stay open, and smoothness depends on your device and connection. Removing the install means paying a bit more attention to your connection.
