Knight Online Rogue Guide: Archer or Assassin?

In short: The Rogue is a fast, agile Knight Online class that plays in two ways: as an archer attacking from range, or as an assassin attacking up close. Solo it moves quickly, in a party it fills gaps, and in PvP it controls distance.

This Knight Online rogue guide covers a fast class that uses distance to its advantage. It plays in two ways: as an archer attacking from range, or as an assassin attacking up close. This guide covers both paths, the Rogue's role solo, in a party and in PvP, how to level it and whether it suits you.

Knight Online rogue guide: archer or assassin?

The Rogue has two paths. As an archer you shoot with a bow from range. As an assassin you move in with daggers. Both are fast and lightly armoured; the difference shows in the range where the fight happens.

  • Archer: You hit from a distance and keep adjusting your position. It suits controlled, patient play.
  • Assassin: Timing and speed are the core. You break the enemy's focus, strike, then pull back.

Rogue solo, in a party and in PvP

Alone, the Rogue's main strength is movement. It travels between areas easily and finds its own line through monsters.

In a party the Rogue is a flexible support. With a Warrior at the front or a Priest behind, it attacks from different angles and covers the gaps. For shared EXP and the extra-member drop bonus, see the party guide.

PvP, meaning battles against other players, is the Rogue's game of speed and distance. Catching an opponent's weak moment and pulling back is natural for this class. Because the Rogue is lightly armoured, be careful against a durable class; entering PvP with a friend is safer.

How a Rogue levels up

Start in Moradon. Its monsters run from level 1 to 60, and the first quests begin at level 1.

  1. Moradon (level 1 and up): Finish the first quests. For the order of quests, use the quest guide.
  2. Ardream, middle levels: Monsters here run from level 37 to 145, so you can find a line that suits you as you grow.
  3. Ronark Land Base, levels 70 to 80: This zone has monsters from level 46 to 85 and quests from level 70 to 80.

Check zones and monsters on the maps. To pick a spot for your level, read the leveling spots guide.

Upgrades: Rogue gear

An archer uses a bow and an assassin uses daggers as the main weapon, and the upgrade rules are the same for both. Rates and the Noah cost are in the upgrade guide.

Does the Rogue suit you?

If most of these are a yes, the Rogue may fit:

  • I want fast, mobile gameplay.
  • I enjoy managing the distance to my enemy.
  • I am ready to pick either the archer or the assassin style.
  • I accept playing a lightly armoured character carefully.

If most are a no, a sturdier class like the Warrior or Priest may suit you better. Compare all four in the classes overview.

Frequently asked questions

Is archer or assassin better?

It depends on you. Choose the archer if you like patient play from range, and the assassin if you enjoy fast, close timing.

Is the Rogue good for beginners?

Yes. Start with the Moradon quests and build your movement habits. For a first-steps plan, read the beginner's guide.

Can I play a Rogue on both nations?

Yes. Every class is available on both nations, so choose by playstyle, not by nation.
