In short: New to Knight Online? On ChromeKO you start by pressing Play on chromeko.com and signing up for free, then take your first steps in Moradon and reach your first level with quests. No download or payment is needed to play.

If you are logging into Knight Online for the first time, your first hour can feel both exciting and confusing. This knight online beginner guide takes you from signing up on ChromeKO to your first level-up, step by step. You don't need to download anything; you can start right in your browser. You can jump in right away with a guest login, no sign-up required.

Knight Online beginner guide: sign up and enter the game

Go to chromeko.com and click "Play". Creating an account is free, and you can do it on the sign-up page. The game loads into your browser once on first launch, so a short wait the first time is normal. Later logins are much faster. Keep the details you used to sign up in a safe place, because you will need them to log back in.

To play on your phone, the add-to-home-screen steps are on the download page, and our mobile guide covers the phone side in detail.

Pick your class and nation

The game has five classes: Warrior, Rogue, Mage, Priest and Kurian. Our classes guide explains which one suits your style. There are also two nations, Karus and El Morad, which decide who you can play with and which side you fight for in nation wars. Read Karus or El Morad before you choose.

First steps in Moradon

New characters usually start in Moradon, the starting town. Use your first minutes to get your bearings:

  • Open the minimap and the big map to see where you are and where your quest targets are.
  • Practice moving, talking to NPCs and opening your inventory.
  • Work out which items will help you at low levels before you sell anything. Reading each item takes a few minutes, and it saves regret later.

Level up with quests

Quests are the fastest way forward in your first hour. ChromeKO has one-time and repeatable quests from level 1 to 80. They reward EXP, Noah and items. Open the in-game quest list with the Q key; quest tips show the target on the minimap and the big map. The site's quest list shows each reward, so you can choose quests that fit your plans. The quest list shows every quest by level, with its giver, targets and rewards. Our quest guide explains how to plan with it.

Small tips for your first hour

Join a party. EXP earned in a party is shared. For how the party bonus works, see the party guide. If your connection drops and you return within 5 minutes, you are taken back into your party automatically.

Sell carefully. Items sold to an NPC or destroyed can be bought back with rebuy. Items burned in a failed upgrade cannot.

Learn upgrading before you spend Noah. At the Anvil, you upgrade with Upgrade Scrolls, Blessed Upgrade Scrolls and Trina (Trina's Piece). Rates and the Noah cost are in the upgrade guide. Test first in the upgrade simulator, which uses the server's real rates and spends no Noah.

Don't miss daily logins. Attendance rewards can be claimed every day you log in. Weekends bring a +25% EXP bonus on Saturday and Sunday.

Understand the Genie. The Genie hunts automatically. Its time comes from PUS or the Genie Hammer, which the Noah Merchant sells for Noah, so you can get Genie time without spending real money. See the Genie guide.

First-hour checklist

  • You can log in to your account.
  • You created your character and walked around Moradon.
  • You picked up a quest and found its target on the map.
  • You checked your inventory before selling anything.
  • You claimed your daily attendance reward.

If all of these are done, your first session went well. Learning the rest inside the game, step by step, is a big part of the fun.

Common beginner mistakes

Searching for monsters without checking the map wastes time. Spending Noah on upgrades before testing them in the simulator is a common loss. Turning down a party invite makes low-level hunting feel slow very quickly. Rushing into an upgrade without knowing the failure rules is another costly habit. And leaving quest rewards unclaimed because you didn't check the quest list wastes progress you already earned.

Next step: where should you hunt?

As your level rises, you need to know where monsters are. Check the zone maps for spawn areas and levels, and the drop list for which monster drops which item. Our fast leveling guide covers party and quest strategy. Check the event calendar and the news page for updates.
